Make your Types smarter with guidance

A Type is a group of similar capsules. You might have a Contacts Type where each capsule is one person, or a Meeting Notes Type where each capsule is one meeting.

That alone keeps things tidy. But you can make a Type much more useful by giving it guidance.

What is guidance?

Guidance is a short note that tells your AI how to handle this Type. Think of it as the instructions you would give a helpful assistant: what to write down, and how to lay it out.

Your AI reads the guidance every time it saves a capsule to that Type, so you only have to explain it once.

Two quick examples

Contacts. Without guidance, your AI might save "Met Sam at the conference" and nothing else. Add this guidance:

For each person, save their name, phone number, email, where we met, and one thing to remember about them.

Now every contact comes out complete and in the same order, so you can find what you need at a glance.

Meeting Notes. Add this guidance:

Start with the date and who was there. Then list what we decided, and finish with a to-do list that says who does what.

Now every meeting reads the same way, and the to-dos are never buried.

How to add guidance

1. Open the Type.
2. Tap the ⋯ button at the top, then Edit guidance.
3. Open the AI Guidance tab and write a few plain sentences, just like the examples above.
4. Tap Save.

That's it. Keep it short and simple, and change it whenever you like. The next capsule your AI saves to that Type will follow it.
