Revisions

How Symbol saves revisions of your capsules, and how collaborator edits are tracked.

Every capsule keeps a history of revisions so you can see how it changed over time and restore an earlier version if you need to.

When a revision is saved

Symbol throttles revisions so back-to-back edits don't flood your history. When you make several edits in quick succession, they're folded into the same revision until you stop for about a minute. Once your content has been unchanged for a minute, the next edit starts a fresh revision.

Collaborator edits

The throttle only applies to your own consecutive edits. When a different collaborator edits the capsule, a new revision is always saved — even if their edit happens less than a minute after yours.

This keeps the history clear about who changed what: every handoff between collaborators is a distinct entry in the revision list, so you can always trace an edit back to the person who made it.
