Revisions

How Symbol saves revisions of your capsules, and how collaborator edits are tracked.

Every capsule keeps a history of revisions so you can see how it changed over time and restore an earlier version if you need to.

When a revision is saved

Every time you save a change to a capsule, Symbol records a new revision. There's no waiting period and no coalescing — rapid, back-to-back saves each become their own entry, so nothing you deliberately save is discarded.

Only content is tracked. Saving without changing the content — or changing only metadata, such as the capsule's project — doesn't add a revision, so your history stays free of duplicates.

Collaborator edits

Every collaborator's save is recorded the same way. When a different collaborator edits the capsule, their change is saved as its own revision.

This keeps the history clear about who changed what: every handoff between collaborators is a distinct entry in the revision list, so you can always trace an edit back to the person who made it.
